I Love You So

Patrick - I was playing piano in my basement one evening, relaxing after a long day, imitating Jim Brickman and Billy Joel. My mind started to wander and I found a picture in my imagination of a quiet bedroom, moonlight streaming through an open window. There is a man sitting next to the one he loves watching her sleep. All he can think is that he hopes all he does is enough to show the one he loves just how much he cares, thus the chorus line and song title.

After the song was 90 percent written Dominic had the idea to include a female voice in the second verse and harmonize throughout. We tried a few different vocalists, but it was weird having two guys sing it together. (Joke) Catherine was a natural fit, so she ended up with the part! It came together quickly after that.

The biggest challenge for Catherine and myself during the recording process was to capture the simple quiet of the song.
